5 Reasons to Visit Temecula Wine Country in the Spring
It's officially Spring in the vineyards out here in Temecula Wine Country!
One of our favorite times of the year! The bud break is everywhere on the vines, all of the flowers are blooming, and the birds are chirping.
Here are 5 Reasons to Visit Temecula Wine Country in the Spring :
- Green hillsides, wildflowers and the birds are chirping. This is a magical time in Southern California. If there was a lot of rain the year leading up, there may even be a super bloom of California Poppies somewhere along the way! The green hills and the bud break on the vines, with the wildflowers growing in between is so beautiful! This greenery only lasts so long though!
- The smell of Citrus is in the Air There is nothing like driving through wine country, taking in the beautiful views of the different vineyards, while going by the fields of citrus. The smell is just amazing. This is a true Southern California Experience just on its own!
- Farmers Markets Saturday morning is the Temecula Farmers Market. It's always so much fun to walk around Old Town Temecula and see what all the local vendors have to offer and pick up some fresh produce. Every 1st and 3rd Thursday Downtown Murrieta does Market Nights . It's a definite must do! They shut down the main road, do carriage rides, train rides, have a lot of vendors, and live music.
- Visit the Gardens Some of our favorite spots to see spring blooms at the wineries are at Somerset Winery and Briar Rose Winery . You can also pay a visit to Rose Haven Heritage Garden A 3.4 acre garden containing over 1,900 rose bushes, and a variety of other water‑wise plants.
- Take a ride in a VW Bus to the Wineries With all this said, there is nothing like experiencing Temecula in the Spring like choosing to experience it in a VW Bus. The wind blowing through your hair, smell of citrus coming through the windows, singing with your friends, and tasting the delicious wines Temecula Valley has to offer!
